VICTORY !!!

ALTON TOWN COUNCIL HAVE VOTED AGAINST RELEASING LAND FOR THE FOOTBALL STADIUM DEVELOPMENT ON ANSTEY PARK - BUT WE MUST REMAIN VIGILANT

Anstey Park is a really lovely recreational area. The northern section in particular has an idyllic backdrop of fields and hills, inspiring a feeling of peace and tranquility. There is a large variety of birds in the area including some rare species (skylarks, cuckoos) and also a large number of bats, and there is a conservation area nearby.

This park is used and enjoyed by hundreds of people from dawn to dusk every day of the year, as it has been for the last thirty years. It is one of the few safe areas in Alton where children can play ball games, ride bikes etc. in complete safety without anxious parents having to watch over them. This is a great asset, especially at weekends, evenings and school holidays.

ANSTEY PARK IS ABOUT TO CHANGE FOR THE WORSE!!!
